For which complaints is Ultrasound / Electrotherapy suitable?

Ultrasound and Electrotherapy are suitable for many different people and conditions, including:

  • Athletes: To speed up recovery after injuries or to improve performance
  • Orthopaedic patients: To support rehabilitation after surgery
  • Chronic pain patients: For the relief of persistent pain and discomfort.

For injuries and inflammation of muscle and tendon tissue

Ultrasound is an application that is also part of electrotherapy in the broadest sense. Here, electricity is converted into high-frequency sound waves of 1 MHz or 3 MHz. The ultrasound is applied to the diseased region using a transducer and moved in a circular motion.

The known effects are increased blood circulation and improved cell metabolism. The pain threshold is also raised. This allows injuries in muscle and tendon tissue to heal more quickly.

TENS | EMS

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), also known as electrostimulation, is an electromedical stimulation current therapy with a weak alternating current of low frequency, which is mainly used to treat pain (analgesia) and for muscle stimulation (EMS).

The electrodes are placed near the painful areas. The stimulation itself is not painful and may only cause a tingling sensation on the skin.

We use electrostimulation to counteract muscle loss, to support muscle development and to treat pain.
